Microblading, powder or combo brows: how to choose
Atelier Regard practical guide · Updated
All three are semi-permanent brow techniques offered at Atelier Regard. They differ mainly in the look they create: individual hair strokes, a soft shaded pencil effect, or a blend of both. Here is what each one is, what it costs and how the decision is made with you.
Microblading: hair-like strokes
Microblading draws fine strokes that imitate natural brow hairs. It suits people who want brows that look like their own, only fuller and more even.
Price: $450 for the first session plus $100 for the touch-up six to eight weeks later, plus taxes. The appointment lasts about 90 minutes.
Ombré powder brows: a soft pencil look
Powder brows use shading instead of strokes, for a defined, softly filled brow similar to a light brow pencil. Intensity is chosen with you; brows look darker in the first days and soften as they heal.
Price: $450 plus a $100 touch-up six to eight weeks later, plus taxes. About 90 minutes.
Combo brows: strokes plus shading
Combo brows combine microblading strokes with powder shading, often strokes at the front and shading through the body and tail, for texture and density together.
Price: $495 for the first session, plus taxes. About 90 minutes. A touch-up six to eight weeks later is recommended; please confirm its price at your consultation or when booking.
How the choice is made
Skin, existing brow hair and the look you want all play a role. Healed results vary from person to person: oily skin, sun exposure and aftercare influence how crisp strokes stay and how long colour lasts. Some clients are better suited to powder or combo brows than to strokes alone, Yaelle will tell you honestly during the free 30-minute consultation.
The touch-up is where shape, colour and density are refined once the skin has healed.
